Continence Management > Tips for treatment and care > Modern incontinence products provide high fluid absorption capacity with a smaller product volume

Secure absorption with discreet continence care products

Continence care products with highly absorbent synthetic granules can hold much more urine than cellulose products. In addition, they are more comfortable and discreet to wear than thick cellulose products.

Despite the common belief ‘the thicker the pad, the more absorbent’ modern continence care products are thin but highly absorbent at the same time. Continence care products do not have to be bulky as new technologies allow products to be thin but guarantee, maximum absorbency and leakage protection.

High quality incontinence products can be thin and dependable at the same time!

To rapidly absorb urine and to prevent rewetting, modern incontinence products not only include cellulose but also super absorbent polymer (SAP) capable of absorbing 50 times its own weight. Cellulose can absorb 11 times its weight. So selecting the right material, and not maximum thickness, is decisive! Products with a three-part absorbent core (e.g. MoliForm) provide excellent protection: the top layer transfers the urine to the inner core. The middle layer can securely hold the fluid, even under pressure thanks to the SAP granules, and the bottom layer provides stability for the absorbent pad and helps distribute urine within the product.

Maximum absorbency and protecting the environment

Thin continence care products provide additional benefits. A significantly lower number of transportation journeys are required for the same quantity of thin products. This reduces fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions.

Hence, thin continence care products help ensure reliable management, while contributing in the protection of the environment.
