Atrauman® Ag

For atraumatic wound care.

Hydrophobic polyester fibres with 1mm pore size
  • Prevents granulation tissue from penetrating the dressing, minimising pain and trauma on removal
  • Allows the flow of exudate and air
  • Provides high conformability

Neutral triglyceride impregnation

  • Does not contain Vaseline or Paraffin, leaving the wound residue free
  • Keeps wound margin soft and supple, avoiding scar tissue contraction
  • Enhances non-adherent properties, minimising pain and trauma on removal

“Touch & Kill” active antibacterial effect

  • When in contact with wound exudate, Atrauman Ag forms silver ions on its surface, killing bacteria on contact.
  • Wound exudate, dead bacteria and endotoxins are absorbed by the secondary dressing
  • Silver ions are kept within the dressing where they bind to and destroy bacteria. Due to this local restriction of silver ion release, cytotoxicity of Atrauman Ag is very low
