Atrauman (non medicated) and Atrauman Ag (silver impregnated) primary contact dressings combine a fine polyester mesh to prevent penetration of granulation tissue and an impregnation of skin friendly, neutral triglycerides to prevent adherence of secondary dressings to any exuding wound. The dressing also allows free passage of gases and exudate to facilitate atraumatic and effective wound healing.
Atrauman Ag has the added advantage of impregnation with metallic silver which has been proven to kill a wide range of micro-organisms consistently for up to 7 days whilst remaining substantially less cytotoxic than other silver dressings preventing potential damage to granulating tissue.
