Gloves - Peha®

Peha surgical gloves - suitable for every indication

In 1890 rubber was elasticized and rendered sufficiently resistant to high temperatures of heat sterilization in new preparation processes. This prompted the famous American surgeon Halsted (1852-1922) to have the first rubber gloves manufactured. Wearing sterile gloves as the most effective method of eliminating the hands as a dangerous “source of germs“ was assiduously practiced already at the beginning of the aseptic age.

Today surgeons can choose from a wide selection of surgical gloves whose material and processing guarantee excellent usage properties, thus enhancing the safety of both physicians and patients.

For example the highly elastic, super-thin glove Peha-micron plus is suited for operations in vascular surgery and microsurgery which require the surgeon to have above-average touch sensitivity. All risks of tissue irritation caused by powder and complications resulting from this can be avoided with powder-free gloves from the start.

Persons with an existing latex allergy can use latex-free surgical gloves made of 100% synthetic copolymer, such as Peha-taft syntex powderfree.

Peha-shield is a surgical glove with shielding effect against scattered X-ray radiation which serves as personal protective equipment and in addition meets all requirements of a surgical glove.

The HARTMANN range of surgical gloves includes products which are suited for every indication.
