Around four out of ten people with incontinence also have skin problems. HARTMANN products are specially designed to help avoid skin problems before they occur. As we age, our skin’s protective layer loses its natural resistance. This is especially true for skin affected by incontinence and often leads to problems such as Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD).
There are 5 main skin problems associated with incontinence and HARTMANN have developed solutions to help to minimise these irritations. Our Moli and Menalind® ranges work in partnership to help prevent skin irritations associated with incontinence.
1. Build up of perspiration around the hip area
Solution: Air Active® material used in our MoliCare® Soft range lets the skin breathe and allows perspiration to naturally evaporate.
2. Wetness in the crotch area
Solution: Advanced Dryzone Technology ensures 30% more dryness in the crotch area.
3. Ammonia and enzymes create an un-natural skin pH balance
Solution: 3-layer absorbent core helps to lock in ammonia and neutralise enzymes, restoring a natural 5.5pH balance to the skin.
4. Skin irritations
Solution: All of our products are dermatologically tested, meaning that if used correctly, even the most sensitive skin will not show an allergic reaction.
5. Frequent use of alkaline cleansing products can irritate the skin further
Solution: Menalind® professional skin care range is pH balanced and the new ingredients are specially formulated with a Nutriskin Protection Complex. The range includes cleansing, protecting and caring products all designed specifically to help prevent skin problems.
